Baker Aviation is unique in that all employees are part of an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP).
An ESOP is an employee benefit plan that gives workers an ownership stake in the company through a trust. Employees don't pay for these shares but accumulate them over time based on factors like salary.
The plan acts as a qualified retirement plan, so shares are typically cashed out upon retirement or separation from the company. Full vesting occurs after 6 yrs of employment and upon leaving, shares are redeemed based upon the per share price of the Baker stock.
